Printer related changes since 1.00 ---------------------------------- - New menu item has been added In the Test Page menu it is possible to select "Status Page". You may then press Ready or Return to either Print or skip printing a Status Page. The Status Page will indicate what printer features the AXIS AFP IOP has been able to auto detect at Power On and certain IPDS settings is shown. - Genicom 7912/7916 is now supported - A third logical IPDS cassette is now supported The configuration option "number of Trays" may now be set to "auto detect", "One", "Two" and "Three". If you want the IPDS to report to the host the exact number of installed trays you should select "Autodetect". Even though only two trays are installed on your printer you might want the IPDS to report that three cassettes are installed. In this case you should set number of trays to "Three". Three physical tray is found on a Lexmark 4039+ if an extra 500-Sheet tray and an Envelope (Auxiliary Feeder) is installed. It is also found on the Lexmark Optra Rt+ if an extra 500-Sheet tray and on the Lexmark Optra Lx/Lxi/Lx+... if an extra 500-Sheet tray and an Envelope (Auxiliary Feeder) is installed. Good information about how logical IPDS cassettes is mapped to physical Printer trays is found on the Status Page. A Status Page print-out is selected in the "Test Page" menu. 2 (4) Since three trays are supported new settings have been added to the "Tray function" configuration option. You may select : "1.P/2.A/3.T" : IPDS Primary cassette is mapped to Printer tray 1 IPDS Alternate cassette is mapped to Printer tray 2 IPDS Third cassette is mapped to Printer tray 3 "1.A/2.P/3.T" : IPDS Primary cassette is mapped to Printer tray 2 IPDS Alternate cassette is mapped to Printer tray 1 IPDS Third cassette is mapped to Printer tray 3 "1.P&A&T" : IPDS Primary cassette is mapped to Printer tray 1 IPDS Alternate cassette is mapped to Printer tray 1 IPDS Third cassette is mapped to Printer tray 1 "2.P&A&T" : IPDS Primary cassette is mapped to Printer tray 2 IPDS Alternate cassette is mapped to Printer tray 2 IPDS Third cassette is mapped to Printer tray 2 "1.A/2.T/3.P" : IPDS Primary cassette is mapped to Printer tray 3 IPDS Alternate cassette is mapped to Printer tray 1 IPDS Third cassette is mapped to Printer tray 2 "1.T/2.A/3.P" : IPDS Primary cassette is mapped to Printer tray 3 IPDS Alternate cassette is mapped to Printer tray 2 IPDS Third cassette is mapped to Printer tray 1 "3.P&A&T" : IPDS Primary cassette is mapped to Printer tray 3 IPDS Alternate cassette is mapped to Printer tray 3 IPDS Third cassette is mapped to Printer tray 3 If less the three trays is installed the interface will choose a mapping as close to the selected setting as possible. Example : "Number of Trays" = "Three" but only one installed on Printer. "Tray function" = "1.P/2.A/3.T" IPDS Primary cassette is mapped to Printer tray 1 IPDS Alternate cassette is mapped to Printer tray 1 IPDS Third cassette is mapped to Printer tray 1 "Number of Trays" = "Three" but only two installed on Printer. "Tray function" = "1.P/2.A/3.T" IPDS Primary cassette is mapped to Printer tray 1 IPDS Alternate cassette is mapped to Printer tray 2 IPDS Third cassette is mapped to Printer tray 1 A new configuration option has been added, it is called "Paper Size Tray 3". This new option is similar to "Paper Size Tray 1" and "Paper Size Tray 2" in operation. Please refer to the manual. 3(4) IPDS related changes since 1.00 -------------------------------- - Default height of MSI bar code has been corrected. - Error when using multiple copy groups with overlays and including overlays on the same page, has been corrected. - Rotation of image using image sub-command in DR2 tower was not done correctly. - Character is checked against left and top margin to avoid problems when placing characters with image left of character cell. - Wide to narrow values adjusted on bar code 3of9. - Skipping of data in bar codes if non standard data length is used, has been corrected. - Negative values on Bar code offset in WBCC now works correctly. - Position highlighting in bar code and placement of error value corrected. - Code page 340 (OCR) added to 4028 emulation. This code page is obsolete but is still present on IBM printers. - Load resource equivalence command corrected. - Graphics line pattern generation improved. - Negative value can now be used on IO command. - Overstrike function corrected When shifting from absolute/relative inline move to space characters, the space characters could be overstrike even if the bypass bit was set. - Font ID 279 (Courier Nasseem) added to font width tables. - In the 3816 emulation overlay positioning is now done using L-units from the Overlay LPD and not from the current LPD This changes does NOT follow the IPDS reference and 4028 printer functionality, but it appears that the 3816 printer has this error, and this change will emulate it. - The width of the black bars in bar code 3 of 9 has been increased when using default module width. - The default X-extend and Y-extend has been increased to support larger paper sizes (A3 and Bsize/Ledger), when no Set Media Size command is sent. 4(4) - The character increment value, when using Relative Metrics in downloaded fonts, has been changed. Now this value is rounded down to the nearest L-value. - Ackreply flag clear corrected. On the Twinax system, after a clear command, a false reply could be sent. This is now avoided. - Height multiplier in bar codes now maps value FFH to 1. - Bar code clipping against logical page corrected. - RL4 compression in IO1 corrected. On previous version using RL4 could cause the interface to crash. - Overlay and Page Segments now takes up less overhead in the resource memory. - Some changes in the STM and OPC replies when color support is enabled. - Using an the default Local Font ID and this font is never assigned in a LFE command, previously caused an exception in some cases. This exception is now removed. Twinax level changes since 1.00 --------------------------------- - Twinax low level front-end code changed to bypass an error on Fibronic HUB FM 1514 active star. - When the printer was having a paper jam or out of paper error and the printer was turned off and on to clear the error, the AFP parameter in the printer device description was changed from *no to *yes even though autoconfig was turned off on the AS/400. Problem has been corrected. Use AXIS AFP IOP Utility software (14355) for installation. Please refer to the User's Manual (14363) for more information. Note: Paper type A3, B4 and Bsize/Ledger (11x17) that can be selected or autodetected on Printer Tray 1, 2, 3 and manual feed are currently not active. - Recommended software label: ÚÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ¿ ³ AXIS AFP IOP ³ ³ 2.00 ³ ³ 960628 ³ ÀÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÙ Best regards, AXIS COMMUNICATIONS
